Volunteers are essential to our mission and make it possible for us to serve every client with excellence. To join our team as a volunteer, there is a 4-part process: attend one orientation meeting, complete an application, participate in an interview, and train for the specific volunteer role. Volunteers are needed in the following ministry areas:
Support Services
Parenting Mentor
Purpose: To provide mentorship, practical advice, compassionate support, and spiritual guidance to clients enrolled in the parenting program.
Parenting Class Facilitator
Purpose: To facilitate and lead instructional classes for clients in the parenting program.
Post-Abortion Class Facilitator
Purpose: To lead women through the healing process, helping them find forgiveness and freedom from the emotional, physical, spiritual, and mental impacts of abortion.
Prenatal Diagnosis Support Person
Purpose: To walk with families who have received a prenatal diagnosis, supporting them through difficult decisions, helping create a birth plan, and coordinating necessary service.
Grief Support Group Facilitator
Purpose: To lead and encourage those who have experienced a pregnancy loss through a compassionate, faith-based grief support group where attendees can gather with others who have walked in their shoes.
Other
(As needed basis)
Community Events
Purpose: To represent Ascend Women’s Center at area events.
FundraisingSupport
Purpose: To assist with fundraiser planning, logistics, set-up, and clean-up.
Special Projects
Purpose: To assist with one-time or seasonal projects that help advance the ministry’s mission, including organization, inventory, event preparation, administration, etc.
Prayer Team
Purpose: To support the ministry through faithful prayer for clients, staff, and specific ministry needs.
